This is probably the most hyped up restaurant in Rhode Island and I agree with the hype. For a nice restaurant it was reasonably priced, after 20% tip and tax we paid around $140 for two people for a TON of food we couldn't even finish. We got: Dozen Matunuck Oysters - super fresh with all the accoutrements Large mussels - so good Pt Judith Calamari - I always love getting what's locally sourced and these had a great light breading not too heavy Stuffie - honestly best stuffy I've had New England clam chowder - so many clams were in this I was so happy , best clam chowder I've ever had Beet and Goat cheese salad - this one was my one loser. The dressing tasted like nothing and the salad as a whole lacked a lot of flavor. Key lime pie bar dessert - this was the HIGHLIGHT of the meal. I enjoyed it so so much and am still thinking about it. They also had a great selection of cocktails beers and cocktails even! The ambiance of this place is top tier. Definitely make sure you're seated downstairs on the dock. That's the best atmosphere, upstairs is quiet if that's what you're into but you don't get the full experience. The service was also great as they have a ton of staff working this restaurant, they are so incredibly busy but also very well staffed to manage that! FYI it's valet parking only, it's tip based only :)
We are back! Another birthday another delicious meal. This time we tried the oysters and they were small but super tasty. I ordered the tuna medium rare this year and it proved perfect. The serving of tuna is quite generous so I shared with my husband. He ordered the whole belly clams and they were perfectly fried. Our waitress Kristen was delightful and despite running up and down the stairs several times remained cheerful and attentive. The birthday sundae was as yummy as I recall from last year. Love my birthday traditions!
Fantastic lobster rolls! Start with a cocktail & as many oysters as you can eat. With entrees the extensive wine list has something for everyone.

We have repeatedly returned to Matunick for the fantastic food and cocktails. Service has always been subtle yet attentive. I don't usually write reviews but the remarkable customer service we received last night deserves applause. Our appetizers promptly arrived with our drinks. After a few sips of my chowder, our entrees were delivered. Our waitress stopped by to see how we were doing and offered to take them away and keep them warm. We suggested she tell the kitchen to slow it down for the sake of others. She could have been done with us there and then but instead, she informed her manager of our situation. The manager immediately came to our table, took away our entrees and had them completely redone at the more appropriate timing! She even delivered them herself! Everything was fresh, hot and delicious! Rare and outstanding customer service in addition to the wonderful setting and total dining experience!
